Attaining Holistic Health in Spite of the Busy Schedule

0 40

are you physically fit Do you have inner peace within you? Or are you even emotionally stable? If you answered yes to these three questions, your overall health is probably in good shape. But what exactly do we mean by holistic health?

Holistic health is the general well-being of a person. It encompasses a person’s physical, emotional, psychological and spiritual well-being. In short, it is the totality of a person’s health and well-being.

Nowadays people tend to overlook many things due to their fast paced life. It seems as if everything has now been created to do justice to people’s lifestyles. A very good example of this are the so-called fast food chains. They are so numerous these days that you can see them on almost every street or corner you come across.

Society had already been warned about the risks of eating Mc Donald’s, Kentucky Fried Chicken and the like foods because of their harmful effects on the body which can lead to various types of diseases like obesity, heart and kidney problems and so on. Despite the warning, people still choose such foods due to lack of time. Little do they know that they are risking their health and even their lives.

Exercise is another thing we need to consider. Most of us neglect its importance to our health and well-being. We’re all busy with our jobs and other commitments, so we don’t have time to spare an hour or even 30 minutes for exercise. We rather choose to buy these advertised fast and effective slimming pills and tablets because it is effortless yet very effective. But are we making wise decisions?

Manufacturers of slimming pills lure their consumers because of the promising effect in losing weight. It lets us lose 3 to 5 pounds a week, but is it really healthy? According to nutritionists, the maximum recommended weight loss per week is only 2 pounds. Losing too many pounds in a week changes the physiology of our body systems, which can be detrimental to our health.

Due to our hectic schedules, we lack quality time with our partners. Because of this, broken relationships like divorce and annulment are common in our society. As we all know, unsuccessful relationships can lead to emotional and sometimes psychological instability in an individual, which can manifest itself in despair and even depression.

Being busy doesn’t mean we have to put our health and well-being aside already. There are still some simple ways we can do to achieve good holistic health. Here are some of them:

First, we can wake up at least 20 minutes earlier than usual to prepare food that lasts until dinner. There are many easy to cook and highly nutritious foods such as sandwiches, salads and so on. This way, you will no longer be tempted to eat at fast food chains.

Second, there are still numerous exercises you can do while still fulfilling your work and commitments. For starters, you can take the stairs instead of the elevators. You can also walk short distances instead of getting there by car or taxi. Remember that exercise not only makes us physically fit, but also contributes to a person’s positive mental health, which in turn makes us holistically healthy.

Taking a five to ten minute break every two hours or so wouldn’t hurt if you call your significant other and say, “How are you?” and “I love you” to maintain a harmonious relationship with each other. Even without a reason, you can surprise your partner from time to time.

Living healthy is a continuous process. Focus, determination and self-control play an important role in achieving holistic health. Every action has its own consequence, so be smart about every decision you make. You are the boss of your own body. Your health and success depend on you. There is no better day to lead a healthy life than today.

And honestly, haven’t you been able to stick to your planned exercise and healthier eating routines? Is it possible that before you can do those other things, you need a little help, more energy, to do the other things that you know are good for you? Do you punish yourself for not being able to – are you trying to force yourself into your discipline?

There is one very simple thing you can do, and that is to go to bed early and get a decent night’s sleep. There is a lot of information about this. But one reason it’s so important is so that while you sleep, your body’s adult stem cells can go to work to repair your body. And recently, thanks to a new patented natural dietary supplement, you can get extra help in helping release your adult stem cells from your own bone marrow.

Both will give you a head start and good support to help you achieve your other healthy living goals.
