Cures For Angular Cheilitis – Natural Remedies

0 25

Have you ever suffered from Angular Cheilitis? If so, you would not be alone as many people suffer from this painful, unsightly condition that appears on the sides of the mouth. It is often caused by a buildup of saliva on the sides of the mouth. This warm moisture is the ideal breeding ground for bacteria and fungi. Fortunately, this condition can be cured in many different ways and also very quickly with the right treatment. You can treat it either medicinally or herbally. Most people these days treat these conditions with over-the-counter medicines.

If cheilitis is treated promptly, symptoms can disappear within a few days. But if left untreated, the skin can crack and bleed, and an ugly scab forms. This is very painful and also very embarrassing. Many people are unaware that there are many home remedies that are very effective in treating angular cheilitis.

The usual orthodox cure for Angular Cheilitis is to apply a topical steroid cream or anti-fungal cream, which should kill the bacteria within a few days. But as I mentioned before, there are home remedies for cheilitis that are very effective in getting rid of this condition.

Attention to the diet:

There may be some diet-related causes of this condition. If the cause behind cheilitis is a yeast infection called candida albicans, then following a strict diet that eliminates anything made with yeast will eliminate the condition. By drinking plenty of water, you can keep the skin hydrated, which aids in the healing process. Vitamin B deficiency has also been found to be the cause in some cases of Angular Cheilitis. Therefore, it would be a good idea to start taking the supplement as part of a treatment, even if you are unsure if you have a B vitamin deficiency.

Changing diet is a natural way to cure Angular Cheilitis. Another easy option is to simply let the area dry naturally to prevent moisture from starving the bacteria and fungi. Homemade topical remedies can be made with either petroleum jelly and tea tree oil. The tea tree oil is a natural antibacterial oil and effectively kills all bacteria and fungi. Another option is to dab sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) on the affected area. This has great results as a natural remedy for Angular Cheilitis. Rubbing olive oil on your lips will also moisturize and kill any bacteria that may be lurking in the mouth area. Sometimes an improperly fitting denture can be the cause of excess saliva on the sides of the mouth, so disinfect your dentures by soaking them in a solution of water and household bleach.

There are many remedies for angular cheilitis, both natural and medicinal, and each person’s response to treatment varies. So choose the path that works best for you. Before you head to the pharmacy, however, open your kitchen cupboards to see what you have on hand to naturally cure angular cheilitis. And watch those painful, unsightly sores go away.
