Natural Cures for Shingles, Herpes Zoster

1 66

Herpes zoster shingles is caused by the same virus as chickenpox and is one of the most uncomfortable and painful conditions one can experience. Shingles manifests as a rash on a specific part of the body and is said to develop along nervous ramifications; Along with antiviral treatment, doctors also usually prescribe opiates to help patients manage the pain. The great danger is opening a vicious circle, since most opiates cause narcotic dependence. Alternative medicine has developed other solutions to the pain management associated with shingles. The best suggestion here is to use bee venom therapy, which some people call “apitherapy”.

The main active ingredient in bee venom is melittin, a substance with a strong anti-inflammatory effect. In addition, bee venom contains a complex mixture of proteins and peptides with neurotoxic and immunogenic properties. Targeted injections in the vicinity of the body region affected by herpes zoster also trigger a positive reaction at the level of the local defense system by means of acupuncture. This form of therapy combines the advantages of the pressure points with the chemical properties of the bee venom compounds to a considerable extent. Pain relief is almost immediate and rapid improvement in health has been noted in most cases. Before using this procedure, however, run a few tests to make sure you’re not allergic to bee venom.

There are also a number of herbs with proven effects against viruses from the herpes branch: peppermint, sage, rosemary, oregano, thyme and hyssop are just a few of them. You can prepare a combined highly concentrated infusion from these herbs, let it cool down and then wash the body parts affected by shingles. All of the above herbs have great antiseptic, anti-inflammatory and antiviral compounds that work wonders for herpes rashes. You can also use red pepper to fight herpes zoster thanks to its fundamental compound known as capsaicin. This substance is actually the active ingredient in many herpetic balms and ointments available on the market such as Zostrix.
