Types of carbohydrates:

There are two types of carbohydrates in food, one is simple carbohydrates, the other is complex carbohydrates. From the names you already know that not all carbohydrates are created equal.

Simple carbohydrates are foods made up of a shorter chain of sugars, so they are digested very quickly and enter our bloodstream immediately. Simple carbohydrates very often make you hungry, causing you to eat more food, which leads to weight loss. These are mainly low quality carbohydrates and contain no nutrients.

On the other hand, complex carbohydrates, or can be called “smart carbohydrates”, are made up of long chains of sugars, so they take a little time to digest and they usually provide us with energy for the whole day. They are packed with dense nutrients and high-quality fiber that will speed up your metabolism and burn fat, thereby helping you lose weight.

Should carbohydrates be excluded?

The answer is already a big NO. Carbohydrates, which are one of the body’s three essential nutrients, should never be eliminated from the diet. If your motive is to lose weight, you can cut back or switch to a full carbohydrate-healthy diet. Carbohydrates are the body’s main source of energy. So if you eliminate carbohydrates from your diet, your body can get the energy from the stored fat. This weakens your body in the long term and makes you susceptible to many diseases.

The point is not to exclude the carbohydrates, but to choose them correctly. Now, what are carbohydrate foods that promote health and should be avoided are below?

It’s about making the right choices, whether it’s a job for your career or carbs for your diet. By now you know what those proper carbs are that I’m referring to. Yes, those complex carbohydrates. Not all healthy foods taste bad, just like sweet potatoes, bananas, beans and whole grains, these foods provide us with lots of fiber and good carbohydrates that control our hunger and keep us from overeating.

If you want to stay away from unhealthy carbohydrates, you need to stay away from artificial sweeteners, processed and refined foods, soda pop, and fast foods. That may sound harsh to many out here, but even if you lower your consumption in the name of “cutting carbs,” you’ll still crave them. They contain unhealthy sugars, no fiber that promotes weight gain.

Eat in moderation and exercise your mind

By now you know what carbohydrates are, their good form and bad form. At the end of the day, we’re all human, so it can be natural to crave cookies, burgers, pasta, soda, and more. Have a cheat day once or twice a month and eat these simple carbs in moderation. However, make sure you don’t sit idly by afterward, but exercise to burn out those unhealthy ones so they don’t enter your bloodstream.

Even if you’re not trying to lose weight, it’s still wise to avoid bad carbs just for a healthy well-being. In the long run, these unhealthy causes cause heart blocks, diabetes, high blood pressure, and more.
