Why Food Combining For Acid Reflux Works

0 13

Not just any food combining. but The right food combining works for acid reflux.

Here’s why.

Acid reflux, or GERD, is simply a message telling your body that something is wrong inside. Therefore, it cannot be successfully treated by constantly taking prescription drugs. Yes, they will help you at short notice. Medications and antacids might help you in an emergency, but for treatment and preventive maintenance? That’s a different story. One that your doctor most likely didn’t tell you about.

The truth is that conventional medicine focuses more on relieving the symptoms of a condition and does not fully address the root cause of the problem. All right, if they want to “get to the root cause,” they resort to their “bread-and-butter” solution known as surgery. Not a pretty picture, but what can you do when they tell you this is your “best and only” option?

Where conventional medicine falls short, natural treatments like proper food combining have worked wonders for countless people who once suffered from acid reflux. It has been touted by nutritionists and health professionals as not only a solution for GERD, but for almost every digestive disorder you can think of. Crohn’s? RDS? Gastritis? ulcers? These are just a few of the conditions that the right diet combination could easily address.

And it’s nothing new either.

This style of eating was first introduced in 1911 by a New York doctor named Dr. Discovered William Hay. Fed up with conventional medicine’s inability to cure his Bright’s disease, a life-threatening illness during this time, he sought alternative and better ways to treat himself. He came up with the idea of food combining, which looks at how different foods are digested in unique ways. For example, some foods require an acidic enzyme while others require an alkaline environment to be properly absorbed. The two groups should never go together.

This discovery not only cured his illness but enabled him to become a successful lecturer and teacher of proper food combining, which has taken on many names and derivations such as the “hay diet” popular today.

So what does food combining have to do with heartburn?

Remember what I mentioned earlier when I said it’s a message telling your body that something is wrong inside? Chances are that the way you have been eating all along is causing the pain you are feeling now. Not just what you ate yesterday or last week, but for your whole life. Acid reflux, or GERD, isn’t something you get overnight.

Let’s be specific. If you’re like me, your eating habits before were mostly skipping breakfast (because time is golden), rushing to work, skipping lunch, and eating like a ravenous wolf by 2 or 3 p.m. You then finish the rest of your day with more work, arguing that since you had a heavy meal (a meal at that), you skip dinnertime and settle for a tempting treat, say 9 or 10 p.m. That would be either a bag of chips, that melted chocolate cake that just sits in the fridge all by itself, your favorite 3 flavor ice cream, or something less than healthy. Then “rinse and repeat” the same thing the next day. And the day after.

What can you expect 5 or 10 years later? Some have had acid reflux symptoms for a year. It varies from person to person as it depends on how good you’ve been to your body all along.

The right food combining loosens and restores order in the body, especially in the digestive system. And the amazing thing is that the human body is able to heal itself when given the right environment for it to take place. Again, it doesn’t happen overnight, although some were surprised by the instant relief they experienced. But give it a few weeks to a few months, and you’ll definitely see improvements that your doctor would never believe could possibly happen again.
