How herbal tea can improve your wellbeing

Anyone who has always wanted to start drinking tea has certainly gone to the supermarket and was completely overwhelmed by the selection. There are black tea, green tea, fruit teas, teas you’ve never heard of …

And so much more.

Choosing the right tea can also be a challenge due to the caffeine content. Different types of tea have different levels of caffeine, unlike coffee, which is either caffeinated or decaffeinated.

When I started drinking tea regularly, I started taking it Herbal teas. The best thing about herbal teas is that you can drink them any time of the day as they contain little to no caffeine. And even better, sipping is a great way to stay hydrated throughout the day when plain water just doesn’t pass the vibe check. You can even brew something the night before and keep it in the fridge so you have iced tea!

Herbal teas are versatile and also have various properties that can improve your overall wellbeing. Today I’m going to share some of my favorite herbal teas and how they can improve wellbeing so that you can expand your taste buds.

  • This tea can be good for reducing stress and relieving anxiety. It has also been shown to improve mood. Not to mention its slight lemon flavor is so good any time of the day. Try brewing something ahead of time so you can sip it on ice on a hot summer day!

  • Lavender tea has been shown time and time again to relieve symptoms of depression and anxiety. While it is certainly not as effective as regular therapy or medication, it is a good tool to have on hand on particularly tough days.

  • This sweet tea is good for restless nights. At school, I would occasionally drink a cup of valerian root tea the night before a major exam to get a good night’s sleep. Be careful though, as regular consumption can become a habit.

There are so many other herbal teas that are great to drink throughout the day, such as hibiscus teas. While none of these teas are capable of completely eliminating health ailments, they are certainly a good tool when you need an extra resource for your wellbeing. It is also important to remember to consult your doctor before drinking tea, as some may interact with different drugs.
