Exercise Tips to Improve Your Health

Learning exercise tips will give you an edge to improve your health. What’s the point of doing exercises if you don’t do them right? You get bad results. These exercise tips will help you get back on track to being healthy.

1. Ask your doctor

This is one of the most important exercise tips. Before beginning any exercise program, never fail to consult your doctor for advice on which exercises are right for you. This is especially true if you have a heart condition, have diabetes, are over 60 and are pregnant.

2. Warm up and cool down exercises

Think of the three steps of training. You should warm up before exercising to avoid straining and spraining your muscles and serious injury. You should also cool down after exercising. Cooling down after exercise prevents muscle pain and soreness.

3. Take your time to stop

Take time to stop exercising if you experience pain, lightheadedness, dizziness, difficulty breathing, or a cold sweat. You need to see a doctor if you experience sharp chest pains, chest pains radiating to your left arm and back, paleness, and shortness of breath. Any of these may indicate that you already have a myocardial infarction (heart attack).

4. Gradual increase in activity

You should increase your activity level weekly to allow your body to adjust to the stresses of exercise. Don’t train too fast as you could injure yourself. It is recommended that you add about 20 minutes to your routine each week.

5. Rest and sleep

You should take time to sleep and rest your body. You shouldn’t exercise late at night. This can wear down your body and cause insomnia. Stop exercising 3 to 4 hours before bed.

6. Scheduling

One of the training tips you need to know is planning your training activities. You should train 4 to 6 times a week, but remember tip number 4. Start with 4 times a week. After each session, make notes about what you felt and how you felt before, during, and after the workout.

7. Healthy Eating

You still have to eat healthy. After training you will feel hungry, remember not to eat high-calorie, high-sugar and high-sodium foods. The work you put in to burn those calories just goes to waste. You should also drink plenty of water, not soda or anything sweet.

8. For your convenience

When exercising, you should wear comfortable clothing. This is especially true for your shoes. There is no better pair of sports shoes than a pair of good running shoes. Sweatpants are good, but they shouldn’t be too loose, especially in the buttocks, or they could get caught in exercise machines. When exercising, always have a towel handy to wipe away sweat.

Basically these are just some exercise tips you need to know and now you will do great in your exercise sessions.
