Wellness Design and Vastu

Elements of wellness design are based on the principles of natural beauty, energy symmetry and color balance, which directly impact and improve people’s health and well-being. Incorporating the design principles of Vastu FengShui corresponds to the circadian rhythms of the body and the five major elements that we are all made of.

Design for wellness, resorts and boutique hotels emphasizes fitness and meditation, including saunas and detox spas, as well as secluded green spaces where plants and elements of nature abound. Old doors with sunbeams and chakras, lotus and flowers are bursting with positive energy. Wellness is a sensory experience, be it a flowing stream or a waterfall or the rustling of the leaves, the more relaxing the experience, the more unforgettable it is.

Green design brings nature indoors, beautiful lush plants purify the air we breathe, and antique cabinets and chai tables made from reclaimed wood create a sustainable home. Feng Shui and Vaastu Shastra are sister sciences based on the ancient knowledge of the balance of energies between people and the places they inhabit. Ancient Indian doors were studded with metals and beautifully carved in a unique way to create a vortex of energy. Vastu is the yoga of your home and aims to keep the energy flowing. Blocked energy creates stress that affects your health, career, and finances, and limits your growth.

The alignment of the five elements earth, water, air, fire and space that make up our body with the universe is done with the appropriate directions. The Northwest is the air element that affects relationships and communication. When the air element is balanced, you experience harmony. The air element affects the nervous system and the mind. If this zone in the body is blocked, you could suffer from insomnia and depression. Sheer light blue curtains on the windows and a beautiful sari tapestry dotted with turquoise beads create a gorgeous backdrop that welcomes guests in an abundance of love.

The Northeast is the water element related to growth and prosperity. Our body is almost 60% water and this area affects our circulatory and lymphatic systems. A beautiful marble fountain on a wall lined with Ganesh and Buddha mural carvings in shades of gold and blue adorns the space with blissful energy.

The southeast area of your home is the fire element, which is associated with your digestive system and energy levels. A balanced Southeast keeps you alive and cheerful. An imbalance in this zone leads to food allergies and fatigue. Antique vintage door cabinets in rustic red tones and warm patinas enhance this zone and take care of the harmful electromagnetic radiation emanating from our devices.

The southwest is related to the earth element, which translates into family and career. The lower back is the corresponding body zone. Bring the earth element into play with plants and warm taupe curtains. A beautiful brass Sri Yantra balances this energy zone, as do images of mountains.
