Vegetarian Diet – The Promise to Good Health

0 19

Vegetarianism changes the way you look at and think about food. It is a natural and holistic journey to be taken for the health of your body. A balanced vegetarian diet, meaning a low-fat, high-fiber diet, is enough to keep the most complicated medical problems at bay, such as coronary artery disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, and even certain types of cancer.

Vegetarians tend to consume more amounts of polyunsaturated fats, which are healthy compared to saturated fats found in all meat products. A typical vegetarian meal consists of a balanced proportion of grains, grains, legumes, nuts, seeds, fruits, vegetables, dairy and soy products. Because it’s so varied, you get all the nutrients your body needs from this type of meal.

We all know that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and a vegetarian breakfast means double the health benefits. So replace scrambled eggs, fried bacon, and sausage with fruit, granola, and soy. A combination breakfast is always best, i.e. one that contains a portion of fruit, muesli and dairy products instead of just one portion.

Fruits are high in fiber, low in fat and also high in most nutrients like minerals and vitamins. You can have either one or two servings of one or two different types of fruit; If you don’t like fruit as such, make a single or mixed fruit smoothie that’s just as healthy. Try to include the skin of the fruit as much as possible, especially with apples, grapes, pears, guavas, etc.

Add a serving of granola to your daily breakfast, and the prime example is oatmeal, which is a rich source of fiber. Oatmeal contains soluble fiber that delays the digestion and absorption of food and thereby has a slow impact on blood sugar metabolism. Therefore, this grain is highly recommended for diabetics. Soluble fiber has also been shown to lower cholesterol levels in the body. For those missing the taste of bacon and eggs, try the vegetarian equivalents like stir-fried tofu and soy bacon.

You can make scrambled tofu the same way you make scrambled eggs, adding other fresh ingredients of your choice like onions, tomatoes, mushrooms, and spinach. Soy is an excellent source of calcium and is also beneficial in lowering cholesterol and triglycerides. A vegetarian meal is also the best way to lose weight, since recipes and diets made from fruits and vegetables are naturally lower in calories and fat.

It is also easily digested, making it an excellent option for children and the elderly. Vegetarian food doesn’t have to be boring at all; In fact, there are thousands of delicious recipes that can be made from vegetables, grains, fruits, nuts and cereals that you will soon forget meat products ever existed. And most importantly, you can be the proud owner of a clear conscience while speaking out against animal cruelty.
