AdhereHealth, a medical device adherence and health outcomes company, today announced a new partnership with Health Connect America (HCA), a multi-state manager of mental and behavioral health services.
The new collaboration gives HCA’s pediatric and adult customers instant access to AdhereRX’s digital pharmacy services, including personalized compliance packaging and drug delivery services designed specifically for underserved, higher-risk patients.
“Our collaboration with AdhereHealth’s digital pharmacy will have a significant impact on the lives of our customers,” said Jennifer Perry, Director of Integrated Care and Health Connection Services for Health Connect America. “Adhering to medication is a real challenge for people at risk with mental illnesses and behavioral problems such as ADHD or developmental disorders. We want to do more to meet the complex needs of these higher risk individuals to improve outcomes. Compliance packaging is a proven strategy with results that on average are adhered to by 96 percent. “
Research shows that more than half of patients are not taking their medication as recommended. However, easy-to-use compliance packs, such as blisters and dosage strips, can increase correct self-dosing and adherence rates to over 96%, reducing the risk of non-compliance and avoidable hospital stays.
“Health Connect America is a forward-thinking organization that understands it needs the right tools and a personalized approach to meet the needs of vulnerable, underserved populations,” said Jason Z. Rose, CEO of AdhereHealth. “Our AdhereRx digital pharmacy helps overcome nursing barriers and social determinants of health to keep these patients safe at home.”
Compliance packaging offers optimized management of complicated medication routines. Coupled with synchronized drug refills and pharmacist-led initiatives to improve accessibility, compliance packaging is critical to any efficient, high-impact care management program.
