0 27

Just turn on the news and you’ll hear about the latest company downsizing, resizing, slowdowns, restructuring, economic downturns or, as the financial advisors say, the economic winter. What about you? All this bad news and at work you are burnt out, mentally and physically exhausted. Have you wondered – “at what price?”

As your responsibilities grow, your shoulders weigh down with the burden of your life, which is becoming busier and more stressful by the day. With constant worry, more responsibility and more work, life becomes hectic. Our heads become heavy with fatigue and dizziness; This is enough to not only make you tired, but also make you sick. Very sick.

Stress can be different for different people. For most of us, stress is commonly caused by feelings of having too much work, not enough time, financial losses, and feeling out of control, all of which lead to thoughts that can make you depressed. Everyone suffers from stress at some point in their lives, but the real challenge is to overcome and kill the stress that is building inside you, and NOT be killed by it.

Stress is associated with chronic ailments such as back pain, headaches and fatigue. Chronic diseases like the flu, obesity, diabetes, heart disease, stroke, cancer, Crohn’s disease, irritable bowel syndrome, GERD to name a few are all affected by long-term stress. The link between your perception of stress and your body’s ability to fight off disease is so strong that some experts believe stress can be “deadly.” So you’re right, your job is killing you and now we can prove it! Feel better?

This is how stress feels when it develops in you:

Anxiety: Gives you a feeling of nervousness, like fear of something that is about to happen.

Fatigue: A feeling of extreme fatigue as a result of physical or mental work.

Depression: A condition in which a person becomes hopeless and unhappy. It can lead to suicidal thoughts.

Insomnia: Inability to sleep properly, leaving you feeling tired and sluggish throughout the day.

Decreased concentration: Inability to concentrate on work, which can lead to wrong decisions.

Stress also affects your ability to work. When you’re stressed, you’re less productive, more prone to accidents, make more mistakes, get sick, and miss work. Remember the last time you were worrying about that big project, your head was pounding, your back was hurting — and then you caught a cold that added to the stress?

6 tips to reduce work and life stress and improve your health

  1. Change your work pattern:

prioritize workload. Create a work plan listed on paper based on their priority. This will help you get the important work done first with effective time management.

Delegate. If you are overwhelmed at work, seek the help of a competent colleague or delegate the work to someone else.

Do not volunteer for additional tasks. Don’t take on work you can’t handle. If you can, do it; if you can’t, don’t.

Take a break. Take occasional breaks from your desk or workspace. You can go for a walk and even stretch on the chair.

Relax in free time. If possible, take a trip out of town. This will refresh your mind. No more 24 – 7 working days!

  1. Change what you think:

change your behavior The world would be a better place if you think the world is good. It’s all in your head, life is more about your perception than what actually happens.

meditation/relaxation. Meditation and yoga can relax your mind. A 10-minute yoga break every few hours clears your mind and improves productivity.

Evaluate what is on your mind. Make clear decisions. Develop a strategy for dealing with a difficult situation and make a note of any adverse circumstances you might face.

  1. Eat Right: If bad food leads to ill health, then good food leads to good health… quite simply!!

Good nutrition is important for both body and mind. Since stress burns off vitamin B and vitamin C, these nutrients are replenished by foods with good nutrition. Stay away from fatty foods and fast food; Instead, try to eat whole foods in their natural form, fresh raw and organic whenever possible. Take whole food supplements that are medically approved, clinically researched and healthy for the body. Vitamin D supports the immune system, omega 3 reduces inflammation, but you should only take supplements after approval from a health coach, nutritionist or other healthcare professional. To maintain good health, avoid sugar, salt, and processed foods.

  1. Add activity: Money can buy fat, but not burn it. The minimum recommended amount is 30 minutes most days of the week. Start increasing your walking time. Exercise causes the body to secrete the natural painkillers endorphins; and also makes you feel better. Increasing your activity helps keep you healthy and increases the body’s ability to fight disease.

  2. Get enough sleep: A lack of sleep not only reduces concentration at work; it also reduces your body’s “coping ability” and lowers immune function. When you sleep, your body heals itself.

6. Find someone to talk to: People who hold back their emotions are at greater risk of developing more ailments and illnesses. Find someone you can trust to share your feelings with perhaps a colleague, family member, friend, or therapist. When you share your feelings with someone else, you create an opportunity to feel less alone, supported, and more connected to others around you. In other words, less stressed.
