The healing properties of the earliest Chinese knowledge of acupressure or shiatsu have been extolled for ages. In recent years, it has established itself as a helpful tool for smokers to break their addiction. There are specific acupressure points on the skin that can be triggered to stimulate energy spikes in the body, driving increased energy flow and promoting the body’s natural healing abilities. When using shiatsu to quit smoking, there are a number of pressure points that are designed to help you quit cigarettes for good.
Start the process by stimulating the “letting go” point. Located three fingers below the collarbone and next to the humerus, this release point can be awakened by applying light pressure. Apply adequate pressure, but not enough to cause pain. Hold the pressure for 10-15 seconds and breathe deeply.
Place the palm of your hand over the knuckle bone. If you’ve calculated the width of a palm up from the crest of the knuckle to the back of the shin, you’ve discovered another strong point for acupressure. Use the tip of your finger to press the tip with full force, but not painfully. It must be kept in the same state for 15 to 30 seconds.
Calculate the width of a palm below the bottom edge of the kneecap. If you feel the area a little, you will notice a congenital depression between the leg muscle and the tibia. This particular point also needs to be awakened with a relaxing fingertip force for about 15-30 seconds.
Place your fingertip in the crimp of your elbow joint. You will find an acupressure point on the side of the crimp that lines up with the thumb of that hand. After that, force can be exerted for a maximum of 30 seconds.
You can place your fingertip exactly in the middle under your breastbone. This is the region of the abdominal nerve plexus and is proving to be a highly effective position in alternative medicine. Arouse this position with your fingers. Apply reasonable painless pressure for 15-30 seconds.
Do not perform acupressure if you have heart disease or become pregnant. Before use, you must take a break of at least 20 minutes after exercising, eating heavy meals, and bathing or showering.
