What’s the Peter Jackson Weight Loss Secret? Introducing the Skull Island Diet

0 12

What is Peter Jackson’s weight loss secret? The image most of us have of the Lord of the Rings filmmaker is a portly, bespectacled character reminiscent of one of his Hobbit characters.

In fact, almost a year ago, movie industry insiders and Jackson fans noticed a new look from Peter Jackson. But it’s only now, with all the publicity surrounding his upcoming feature film King Kong, that the general public has taken notice of the slim, glasses-free version of the man and has begun to wonder about the Peter Jackson diet.

And it’s not hard to see why there’s so much interest. Peter Jackson’s weight loss has been impressive – he’s lost about 70 pounds (32 kilograms).

So what’s his nutritional secret?

Was it the South Beach Diet? The caveman diet? The Atkins Diet?

Obesitycures.com did some research and found that Jackson didn’t follow any of the popular diets. The real secret of Peter Jackson’s weight loss phenomenon has been dubbed the “Skull Island Diet” after King Kong’s fictional home island.

Jackson, confused by all the attention his new image is receiving, insists that a lifestyle change, not a diet, is to blame for his weight loss.

“I was just sick of being overweight and unfit so I switched my diet from hamburgers to yogurt and granola and it seems to be working,” Jackson told the Daily Telegraph.

Jackson also reportedly didn’t follow a specific exercise regimen, but he has spoken several times about his grueling 21-hour daily work schedule on the set of King Kong, which undoubtedly played a part in the weight loss.

Jackson said he spent months editing during the day and filming at night and survived on three hours of sleep. “I thought I was some kind of Superman, but it freaked me out.”

And what about Jackson’s newfound glasses-free status? No, unfortunately, losing weight does not improve eyesight. Jackson underwent laser eye surgery and stated that he was “sick of being outside with rain and dust on his glasses”.
