Herbal Remedy for Chronic Cold

Honey Tea

It will help to provide relief from chronic cough. Honey is believed to provide significant relief coughing. To treat cough mix honey with herbal tea and warm water. Drink this mixture twice each day to reap its benefits.

Ginger

It is used for asthmatic cough and has many anti-inflammatory properties. It also helps to relieve pain and nausea.  There is an anti-inflammatory compound found in ginger that can give relaxation to reduce coughing. Ginger affects the cells of humans and animals. Add a few slices of ginger to a cup of hot water cup and steep it for a while. Before you drink add lemon and honey juice to improve and soothe the cough.

Avoid taking an excess of it as it can also give heartburn sensation and pain in the stomach

Fluids

Staying hydrated is vital during cold and cough. Drinking liquids at room temperature can help alleviate sneezing, cough and runny nose.  If you consume warm beverages then it can help alleviate the symptoms of fatigue, sore throat and chills.

Hot Beverages include:

  • Warm water
  • Warm fruit juices
  • Herbal teas
  • Decaffeinated black tea
  • Herbal teas

Steam

Wet cough leads to the production of mucus and phlegm. You can also take a hot water bath and allow water to fill with steam. Stay up in steam for a while. When you are out of the steaming room keep drinking water of room temperature so that you don’t feel dehydrated.

Fill a large bowl with water add few herbs and essential oils to it. It will relive you from decongestion and for a while leaning over the bowl and place your head over the towel. Inhale vapors for next 5 minutes. Discontinue once the steam cools down.

Dietary Changes for acid reflux

 

It is the common cause of cough. Avoid the acid reflux and avoid all the triggers that can be in your diet;

  • Fried and fatty foods
  • Mint
  • Onions and garlics
  • Caffeine
  • Chocolate
  • Tomato based products
  • Alcohol

 

Amla

It is a strong immunomodulator that helps fight many kinds of diseases. Even if you eat one amla daily it will provide many health benefits as it helps in proper functioning of the liver by improving blood circulation and working of the functioning of the liver.

Flaxseeds

It will help to cure cough and common cold. If you boil flaxseeds wait for it to thicken and strain it later. Add a few drops of lime juice and add some honey to it and later drink the mixture for getting relief from cough and cold.

Sauté Garlic

Sauté a few garlic cloves in ghee and consume when it is warm. The concoction will great soothing effects for treating cough and common cold.

Carrot Juice

It can help treat common cold and problem of cough. Not only will it provide relief from cough and cold, but it is also healthy for your eyes and skin.

Gargle with salt water

This age-old therapy effectively treats cough and cold. Adding turmeric to salt water is great for health.

Spiced Tea

Add ginger, black pepper and tulsi for preparing for your tea as it is great for health. Mixing all these ingredients together plays an important role in treating cold and cough.

Ginger-tulsi mixture

Extract ginger juice and add crushed tulsi leaves to it and then later add honey to it.
