We will delete comments that contain personal attacks, unsubstantiated allegations, unconfirmed claims, product presentations, profanity, or others from anyone who does not provide a full name or working email address. We’ll also end every thread with repetitive comments. We do not give medical advice and therefore do not answer questions that ask for it.

We don’t have enough staff to reach out to every commenter who has left a message like this. If you have a question about why your comment has been edited or removed, you can email us at [email protected].

The authors of the Retraction Watch Comment Guidelines request commentators:

“Bring in light, not just warmth. Facts, challenges, disagreements, corrections – all of this is fine. Attacking the person instead of the idea or the interpretation is neither acceptable nor helpful. “

We are also concerned about anonymous comments. We ask all commenters to provide their full name and real email address in case we think we need to contact them. We can delete any comment left by someone who does not leave their name and legitimate email address.

And as mentioned earlier, product pitches of any kind – push treatments, tests, products, procedures, doctors, medical centers, books, websites – are likely to be deleted. We do not accept advertisements on this site and do not distribute them for free.

The possibility to leave comments expires after a certain period of time. So it may happen that you cannot leave a comment on an article that is older than a few months.
