5 Local Event Marketing Ideas for Fitness, Health and Wellness Businesses

0 27

If you have a local fitness, health or wellness business, be sure to get involved in community events. This is a great way to increase awareness, acquire customers, build strong bonds, create long-term loyalty, and build a better community at the same time!

There is no substitute for interacting face-to-face with prospects. As a smaller local business, you understand the needs, wants and opinions in your community. This gives you a unique advantage over the larger, national companies. Be sure to choose events that appeal to your target audience.

Here are a few ideas to consider.

You May Like These

1. Teach a class

If you have specific knowledge on a subject, offer to teach some free courses in your community. Are you a personal trainer? Teach a class about safe weightlifting techniques. Are you a nutritionist? Teach a class how to make healthier food choices at the grocery store. Are you a wellness coach? Teach a class on how to make healthier living habits. You will be surprised how quickly your name will establish itself as a competent contact point.

2. Sponsor a local event

Sponsoring a local event is a great way to connect your business to a good cause. You’ll get some publicity and you might even get to speak at the event. Just remember to go easy on your sales pitch. Focus on creating value and building brand awareness for your business and the cause you are promoting.

3. Host a networking event

You can bring local businesses together and create a social network of people who can use each other’s services. They can help companies find each other and build strong relationships. This provides great opportunities to learn more about other local businesses and how you can help each other.

4. Partnership with a non-profit organization

Be the point of contact for a nonprofit organization in your community. Offer your services at discounted or pro bono rates and get noticed. Keep in mind that the board of directors of non-profit organizations is usually made up of individuals who have power and influence over the local community. So doing a good job for them can lead to referrals and more local “paid” deals for you.

5. Give a free workshop or seminar

You can help people in your community by giving them useful information and an opportunity to ask questions. Talk about the benefits of exercise or good health. Give the gift of a fitness boot camp or yoga relaxation day. Don’t be pushy about your services or give too many sales pitches. Remember, the focus is on helping your prospects and providing them with real value.
