Chiropractors and Holistic Wellness

So your back hurts. Poorly! You now need to “fix” it. And you go to Google and you type in “chiropractor”. So the nearest one is 10 minutes drive away. You pick up your phone and dial the number, make an appointment to be “popped” or “cracked” – the more blunt and popular but wrong way of seeing your doctor’s appointment.

So your chiropractor adjusts your back and tells you that it will take you that many sessions to get rid of the pain. Then you follow his advice because your back has been giving you problems for a long time. As you go through chiropractic care, you will find that other health problems you used to have are starting to go away too!!! Headaches/migraines, PMS, acne, allergies, asthma, hearing problems, eye problems, etc.

It’s amazing, isn’t it. Chiropractic is more than just helping back pain. The logic is simple: your spine is like a bridge (or pathway) of nerves from the brain to your organs and vice versa. When the bridge becomes obstructed, communication is altered and your organs suffer.

Chiropractors correct these communication problems by realigning your spine.

However, chiropractors do not claim that they have the answer to every disease in the world. There are other factors that cause disorders in the body (more commonly referred to as interference) such as diet, emotions, toxins, stress, electrosmog (like cell phone radiation). Regular hiropractors will correct the structural part (your spine, joints and ligaments problem) and can be of great help with diet and nutrition advice.

Once the structural and nutritional problems are corrected, patients often find that most of their health problems go away. For some, that’s “enough” and they’re satisfied. But for some who strive for total well-being (which means not caring about the other disorders of health and well-being), their goal is to feel like a million bucks! Remember how light your body felt when you were in your 20s? That’s it! It’s not that impossible!

The secret lies in the wholeness. The body is not a machine that can be approached bit by bit. It is complex and all aspects are interconnected. Do you remember getting a headache after a stressful day? What is certain is that headaches did not appear by accident. A physiological manifestation of a psychological problem.

Are there chiropractors who take a holistic approach to health and wellness? Secure! While they still claim they don’t have the answer to every ailment known to man, these holistic practitioners can best guide you to reach your health potential (which means being as healthy as possible).

Holistic chiropractors typically deal with the correction of spinal subluxations (or misalignments), provide diet and nutrition advice, perform emotional release techniques, lifestyle changes, provide guidance on exercise, detoxification programs, and more.

Chiropractors like Dr. James C. Weaver CCEP, DC, who are trained in taking a holistic approach to health and wellness, can also help you identify the priority issue your body wants to take care of in a specific time and order.
