Hydrogen Peroxide is a naturally occurring compound found in nature (oceans, lakes, rivers, rain and snow) and in all life forms. Represented by the chemical formula H2O2.
An oxidizing agent used in many household products such as all-purpose disinfectants, non-chlorine bleaches, fabric stain removers, contact lens disinfectants, and hair dye, and a component of some teeth whitening products.
The pure chemical product is often used in industry, but 100% hydrogen peroxide is not available to the general public. Most hydrogen peroxide that can be purchased at a pharmacy has a concentration of 3% in water (ie 3% H2O2, 97% H2O).
In industry, hydrogen peroxide is mainly used as a bleaching agent in the manufacture of paper and pulp. Hydrogen peroxide has been used medicinally to irrigate wounds and to sterilize ophthalmic and endoscopic instruments.
A subclass of leukocytes called neutrophils produce hydrogen peroxide as the first line of defense against toxins, parasites, bacteria, viruses, and yeast. White blood cells are known as leukocytes.

Another example is the statement by Dr. Christiaan Barnard (the first doctor to perform a successful heart transplant). When asked about taking H2O2, he said, “I’ll do anything to delay the aging process.”
