By now, you should be aware that regular soda drinks can cause your body to consume too much sugar, thereby increasing your waistline. And sodas are extremely unhealthy, with fattening syrups and fructose causing a lot of damage to our health.

However, they and many other people think that diet sodas help them shed pounds. Some say that such diet drinks do not have the harmful effects of regular ones. Some even consider it healthy.

For these people we should make a few things clear. Diet soda is far from being considered a healthy drink. In fact, some studies have been conducted proving that diet soda drinkers are even fatter than those who drink regular sodas.

One of the reasons is the use of synthetic sweeteners. These sweeteners increase the production of a storage hormone that fuels the need for more sugar right after drinking that diet soda.

Another reason is that people who drink diet drinks find that since they don’t gain weight from soda, they have the flexibility to eat more food. That’s why they drink diet soda, which actually makes them fatter. And because of this false belief, they start eating more, which directly leads to them accumulating more calories.

However, if you want to have a healthy body, you should avoid consuming sodas, even if they are dietary or used regularly, except in situations where you really can’t stay away from them. As long as you don’t drink sodas, you have a good chance of staying healthy and not gaining weight.

Probably the best choice you can make is to consume plain water with lemon and also iced teas without any kind of sweeteners. There are many different types of tea to choose from. There is green tea, white tea or black tea. Drinking tea will increase the antioxidants in your body and therefore you will be healthier and start losing weight. Of course, if you’d like your tea a little sweeter, there are a few natural sweeteners you can use. One of them is called Stevia and is a very good sweetener.
