Is Your Keto Diet Clean or Dirty?

0 25

At CrossFit Diet Tips, we’ve written extensively about a good nutrition program for athletes. Whether you’re following a keto diet or sticking to a paleo regimen, there are good and bad ways to do it. A name alone does not describe a specific diet program. You can follow one to the letter, but if the foods you use are of poor quality, you may be doing more harm than good. In this article, we will focus on the ketogenic (ketogenic) diet.

A keto diet is defined as a way your body produces ketones. Ketones are produced by the liver from fat, and this process is triggered by eating very few carbs and a decent amount of protein. The ketones are used by the body to generate energy. Thus, a keto diet essentially burns fat as the body’s fuel source. The fat is constantly being burned by your body. When your body produces ketones, it moves into a state of ketosis. Ketosis will burn fat without worrying about fasting. That is, as long as you continue to follow the ketogenic diet.

Which brings me to our topic of a clean vs. a dirty keto diet. Because this type of diet is limited in carbs, seafood, meat, and low-carb veggies could be a regular staple. That doesn’t mean it’s okay to eat a fast-food burger or other commercially farmed meat. If you’re just reducing your carb intake, you’re living a “dirty” keto diet. Vegetables, meat, seafood, etc. should be organic and non-GMO.

We advise you to stay away from processed foods or foods packaged with preservatives. These harm any diet and prevent you from leading a toxin-free life. Any diet works best when the foods are simple and clean.

A keto diet has a detoxifying process when taken properly. Adding toxins through the foods you eat won’t help your liver or your health.

Eat fresh organic vegetables. Try to eat a variety of brightly colored, high-fiber vegetables on a regular basis. The more often you do this, the better and spicier they will taste. Before long, your body will be asking for it with every meal.

When it comes to fat products, choose healthy sources. This can be organic flaxseed, olive oil, avocados, or coconut oil. Many of these are considered non-inflammatory foods. Inflammable foods would be ones like dairy products or some of the nightshade vegetables.

While living the clean keto diet, remember to stay well hydrated. Many people don’t realize that water supports all daily functions, including digestion and organ production.

Finally, remember that you’re doing yourself a disservice by following the “dirty” keto diet. Stay “clean” and stay healthy.

sincerely,
