Ozone Discolysis – Overview of Ozone Therapy in Medical Treatments

0 24

Ozone dicolysis is a new treatment developed by Italian spinal surgeons. Despite being a relatively new treatment, its effectiveness has already been proven in thousands of patients around the world. This treatment is similar to naturopathy as it involves little pain and is an outpatient process performed with the help of local anesthesia. Although its use is similar to natural medicine, its results are like the positive results of surgery. Ozone discolysis has great positive effects on the people it is performed on as ozone has many properties that help in healing a number of medical problems. In fact, it has proven to be of great help in curing a number of critical medical problems, making it very popular among medical professionals.

Ozone works best on the spinal disc and also on the tissue surrounding the spinal disc. This entire process occurs by mummifying the disc, colonizing the inflammatory nociceptors, stimulating fibroblasts and immunosuppressor cytokines, and improving microcirculation and oxygenation. These are the four biochemical actions that ozone performs on the disc to heal the problem of nerve dilatation. The treatment is done in three stages – first the ozone injections are injected on the paravertebral muscles, then ozone is injected into the disturbed disc, followed by the application of the ozone injection on the paravertebral muscles.

Well, how does ozone work? Well, when this powerful oxidizer is injected into the paravertebral muscle, it produces a variety of oxidizing enzymes. This, in turn, helps neutralize the byproducts of the toxins that lead to nerve dilatation. It is considered a natural remedy to treat the problem of nerve compression. In general, the effects of the treatment are positive and it helps to reduce the problem of increased disc volume. Therefore, it is a good substitute for surgical methods to treat nerve swelling. Furthermore, there are no after-effects or complications in this process. Ozone discolysis does not alter the anatomy of the body like surgery and is not a complex process at all; therefore very preferred. But even here there are some diseases, such as fauvism and hyperthryrodism, for which ozone treatment can prove to be absolutely inadvisable.

The success rate of medical ozone treatment is quite high, about 80% – 90%, and there are almost no procedural complications that can affect the smooth functioning of a person’s life in the post-operative period. Because ozone dicolysis is an outpatient procedure, patients have the option to go home the day of treatment and back to work within a week.
